Broccoli, Mushroom and Bacon White Pizza

White pizza is one of my favorites and tonight I decided to experiment
with some different flavors.  I have been on a broccoli kick lately and
thought that some bacon would be a great partner with it.  And I don't
know about you but I can't imagine pizza without mushrooms.  Gasp!
I adore them so....... on they went.

I usually try to make my own pizza crusts but in a pinch the store
bought ones do just fine.  It makes life so easy when trying to get a
fast dinner made after work.  I'm not one to get all fussy about...just
about any product.  If it tastes good and it works for you......use it!

My kids liked this version so well that I'm going to try another version
soon.  I think the next version it will be........Spinach, Artichoke hearts
and Pine nut white pizza.  Mmmm... The possibilities are endless.
I'm getting hungry again already!

Broccoli, Mushroom and Bacon White Pizza

2 broccoli crowns, broken in small flowerettes
1 (8 oz) pkg. baby portabella mushrooms, sliced
6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup Ragu alfredo sauce
1 (15 oz) pkg. Ricotta Cheese
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded (plus a little extra for top)
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Pizza crusts, pre-made

Method:

In a small bowl, mix ricotta, garlic, parmesan, basil and oregano and
set aside.

Steam broccoli and saute mushrooms and set aside.

Place 1/2 cup of alfredo sauce on pizza crust and top with ricotta
mixture and mozzarella cheese.

Now add the broccoli, mushrooms and bacon and top with a little
more parmesan cheese.

Bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 2 pizzas

Pizzas are so much fun to make....they just make me happy and this
version really did!  I hope you will try it and enjoy it too!

  24. you had me at "white pizza!" When I lived in Cleveland I got hooked on "white" pizza, it is very hard to find here in Michigan.
However, "white" pizza is usually olive oil, garlic and some cheese with the toppings of your choice. I didn't see any olive oil in the recipe, is that because of the Alfredo sauce?
I would like to make this without the alfredo sauce and possibly substituting olive oil for it and maybe use some smoky kind of cheese with the broccoli and bacon or just regular mozzarella, YUM!
